In the frame of the Exchange REsidency Program at TOKAS Japan, I went deeper into the research around alien mating dances, discovering and defining more the power of mixing facts and fiction and playing with established codes and aesthetics.
I understand the different developed startegies of connecting and mating with aliens as an open source and shared it on social media. I’m particularly interested in seeing how other people with different bodies and backgrounds interpret, and in this way also change my work. I like to understand the work as a collective movement, therefore we hold the ALIEN MATING DANCE CONGRESS (AMDC) in collaboration with MIRA in Japan. Limited by the pandemic we connected a group of paticipants in Berlin with another group in Tokyo and danced together.
